Here’s How You Told Us You Feel About Roe v. Wade

We asked you what you thought of the recent Roe v. Wade decision. Here’s what you told us. Photo: Drew Angerer/Getty Images

For us, the reversal of Roe v. Wade was shocking. Not shocking that it happened: in today’s firebrand political arena with a keg standing frat boy on the SCOTUS bench, it was more likely to happen than not. It was more like a punch to the gut kinda shocking. For years we hear of “freedom this” and “freedom that.” What that’s starting to mean is “freedom for white christianity to impose their beliefs on others.” (For the record, I have nothing against christianity. I support a person’s right to religious freedom and encourage you to practice your faith. I just want you to support my religious freedom too and not force your beliefs on me.)

Poll and after poll after poll shows that the majority of Americans do not support the court’s decision. But, we wanted to know ourselves, exactly how you, our Startup Cuba community feel about the issue. While *our* poll is not exactly scientific, it is pretty representative of our followers as a whole. The results are below.

(All responses are anonymous. Always.)

  • NO – 80.67%
  • YES – 16.81%
  • OTHER – 2.52%

“Other” responses were across the board and included things like “don’t care” and “codify it.” And one person asked if “we believed in our right to ask” which makes no sense given the nature of the question. But, since they asked…

Yes. We do believe in our right to ask. Just like we believe in a woman’s right to choose what happens to her body.
